Couple Counselling

“Conflict is growth waiting to happen”. (Hedy Schleifer)

Couples usually seek counselling for some of the following areas:

  • Breakdown or improving communication
  • Conflict and power struggles
  • Extramarital affairs and recovery
  • Considering separation/divorce
  • Relational intimacy both emotional and physical
  • Coping with change
  • Personal reasons

We are never more emotional than when our primary love relationship is
threatened. When couples get caught up in destructive power struggles or caustic
fighting patterns, or begin to no longer feel emotionally safe with each other,
and love and joy seem to have disappeared, what is really going on? In couple
counselling we look beneath the surface, and using many practical tools, we find
ways to better communication, understanding, and more fulfilling ways of being
with each other.

Couple counselling sessions are usually one and half hours and can be weekly or
fortnightly.
